Tracing your roots…
…can be a daunting process.
Although we are not staffed to do extensive research, we are often able to provide assistance on questions relating to Greene County heritage. If you wish to enlist our services, please use the form below. For best results, narrow your question to a specific focus, and provide as many relevant details as possible (for instance, birth date, death date, name of spouse, name of children, place of residence).
After we receive your request, it will be forwarded to an appropriate genealogical society member for a response. Please be sure to include your phone number and mailing address, as it may be desirable for us to contact you for a brief conference, and it may be possible to provide photocopies (for a nominal fee).
Note also that copies of Greene County records, death certificates, obituaries and newspaper articles, and numerous other materials can be obtained from the T. Elmer Cox Historical and Genealogical Library (a branch of Greeneville-Greene County Public Library). You can access their website here.
